SPORT DESCRIPTION:
A 21K running race on Windsor’s Riverfront Trail– a paved, extra-wide path passing right by the Festival Plaza – site of the 2022 Can-Am Police-Fire Games Opening Ceremonies. There will be all kinds of attractions along the way including the Firefighters Memorial, Rotary Centennial Plaza, The Spirit of Windsor steam locomotive, the Korean War Memorial and the Odette Sculpture Park just to name a few. You’ll get a great look at the Ambassador Bridge (North America’s busiest border crossing) and then head back east. At the far east end of the course, you will loop back just before Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd. – the largest distillery in North America (don’t worry – you can do the whisky tour later!). This is a nearly flat, paved course along Windsor’s scenic waterfront with amazing views of the Detroit River and Skyline throughout your journey. After the race hang around for medal presentations, prizes, and some snacks!
