LOCATION: Major Fa Tilston Armoury (Outdoor Range), 4007 Sandwich St. Windsor, ON

SPORT DESCRIPTION:  Duty Pistol shooting event. All event are unisex.

Classification: Competitors without classification cards must enter in Marksman and then classified according to their first 90 rounds. Canadian classifications will be used as follows:

Classifications from the PPC event will be used for the Duty Pistol Event.

Competitors who have NRS Classifications must enter in the following CPCA Classifications.

Canadian Police Combat Association Classifications will be used as follows:

Individual

  • Marksman – 00.00% to 85.99%                                  (N.R.A. Classified)
  • Sharpshooters – 86.00% to 91.99%                           (N.R.A. Marksman)
  • Expert – 92.00% to 95.99%                                        (N.R.A. Sharpshooter)
  • Master – 96.00% to 97.39%                                       (N.R.A. Expert)
  • Distinguished Master – 97.40% to 98.39%                (N.R.A. Master)
  • Grand Master – 98.40% and higher                           (N.R.A. High Master)

Four Person Teams

  • Marksman
  • Sharpshooters
  • Expert
  • Master
  • Distinguished Master
  • Grand Master

The team classifications will be based on Table 1 of the CPCA Rule book and will be the Team Average of team members classifications from the individual event.

Officials:

Can-Am Police Fire Games Federation or guiding bodies approved judges or officials.

Weapons and Ammunition:

  • Weapons: Revolver and Automatics specified in NRA rule 3.0
  • Ammunition: Ammunition Specified in NRA rule 3.0

Rules:

Current NRA Rules shall apply to this event, except for the awards formula and the eligibility of competitors. These two areas will be governed by the Can-Am Police and Fire rules as covered in General Sports Rules. Where there is a conflict between NRA rules and Can-Am Police-Fire Games rules, the Can-Am Police-Fire Games will be used.

No competitor will be allowed on the firing range without safety equipment comprised of a vest, and ear and eye protection authorized by the Equipment Control Official. 

Each competitor shall bring his/her own safety equipment and they shall be checked at the same time that the triggers are weighted and tagged by the Equipment Control Official.  Ballistic Vest: Threat Level 2 as outlined by the National Institute of Justice. 

Eye Protection: Any polycarbonate lens what will deflect casings from both handgun and rifle rounds. 

Ear Protection: Any ear protection if the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) does not exceed 33 decibels.) 

For safety reasons, competitors must be “qualified” with their firearm and familiar with range rules and safety (i.e. formal agency training).

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A VEST, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE EVENT COORDINATOR AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION.

COURSE OF FIRE:

MATCH ONE:

    STAGE 1: THREE METERS – 12 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and assume “low ready” position. On command, shooter will fire 2 rounds in 2 seconds using strong hand only and return to “low ready” position.
  • On command, shooter will fire 2 rounds in 2 seconds using strong hand only and return to “low ready” position.
  • On command, shooter will fire 2 rounds, reload from a mag pouch, will transfer firearm to weak hand and fire 2 rounds in 6 seconds and return to “low ready” position.
  • On command, shooter will fire 2 rounds in 2 seconds using weak hand only and return to “low ready” position.
  • On command, shooter will fire 2 rounds in 2 seconds using weak hand only and holster.

    STAGE 2: FIVE METERS – 12 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and with a two handed grip will fire 3 rounds in 3 seconds and holster.
  • On command shooter will draw firearm from holster, fire 3 rounds, reload from a mag pouch and fire a further 3 rounds in 8 seconds and holster.
  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 3 rounds in 3 seconds and holster.

MATCH TWO:

    STAGE 1 – SEVEN METERS – 12 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and with a two handed grip fire 1 round in 2 seconds and assume the “low ready” position.
  • On command, shooter will fire 2 rounds in 2 seconds and return to “low ready” position. On command, shooter will fire 3 rounds in 3 seconds and holster. (Repeat above)

STAGE 2 – FIFTEEN METERS – 12 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 rounds kneeling unsupported unload/reload from a mag pouch and fire 6 rounds standing unsupported in 20 seconds and holster.

MATCH THREE:

    STAGE 1 – FIFTEEN METERS – 18 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 rounds left hand kneeling unsupported – 6 rounds right hand kneeling unsupported and 6 rounds standing unsupported in 60 seconds and holster.

MATCH FOUR:

    STAGE 1 – 25 METERS – 18 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 rounds kneeling left hand barricade – 6 rounds kneeling right hand barricade and 6 rounds standing strong hand barricade in 90 seconds. The strong hand barricade may be fired with either hand from either side of the barricade as long as barricade lines are observed for the side of the barricade being fired from.

STAGE 2 – 25 METERS – 6 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 rounds standing unsupported in 12 seconds.

MATCH FIVE (Duty Pistol)

    STAGE 1 – 7 METERS – 12 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 rounds – unload/reload from a mag pouch and fire a further 6 rounds in 20 seconds.

    STAGE 2 – 15 METERS – 18 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 rounds kneeling left hand unsupported – 6 rounds kneeling right hand unsupported and 6 rounds standing strong hand unsupported in 90 seconds.

STAGE 3 – 25 METERS – 24 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 shots sitting – 6 rounds prone – 6 rounds standing left hand barricade and 6 rounds standing right hand barricade in 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

STAGE 4 – 25 METERS – 6 ROUNDS AS FOLLOWS:

  • On command, shooter will draw firearm from holster and fire 6 rounds standing unsupported in 12 seconds.

ONE TARGET WILL BE USED FOR EACH MATCH – 1 THROUGH 4. TWO TARGETS WILL BE USED FOR MATCH 5

Total rounds shot in Matches 1 through 4 are 90 shots.

Total rounds shot in Match 5 is 60 shots.

Total Course of Fire for Matches 1 through 5 is 150 rounds, for a total possible score of 1,500 points.

Team Event Course of Fire

The Team event score is the total of the individual scores of the team members from Match #5. Teams must identify their members PRIOR to any individuals shooting.  Each team member can shoot a total of 600 points for a possible team score of 2,400 points.
