SPORT DESCRIPTION:
The Ice Hockey event will feature a round robin tournament followed by single game elimination playoff round. Teams are guaranteed 3 games minimum. There will be 3 Divisions – “Open Unisex”, “35yrs & Over Unisex” and “Women’s Open”. There will be a limit of 16 teams in the Open Unisex division, a limit of 8 teams in the 35 & Over Unisex and 4 teams in the Women’s division. Each team may enter up to 19 players dressed, including a goalie and 1 non-playing coach for a total of 20 people per team maximum. Each team should have 2 sets of matching jerseys that are numbered – one set white and one set dark. The team captain will submit the team name and team roster. Team members for this sport will not be considered as registered until the team captain completes this step and each team member completes the on-line registration. Two Hockey Canada certified referees will be used to officiate each game. No slap shots, checking or fighting permitted in the tournament. Teams will be allowed a 5-minute warm-up prior to the game. The games will consist of two 20-minute periods running time. There will be a 10-minute intermission between periods to clean the ice.
