ABOUT THE GAMES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Can-Am Police-Fire Games are a biennial, multi-sport event that take place in North America every other year. The event occurs in the summer months over a 6 day period (Monday-Sunday).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Windsor has been selected to host the Games in 2022 and the event will take place Monday July 25 to Sunday July 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many participants can we expect?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Typically between 800 to 1,000 competitors plus spouses and\/or families attend the Games. As of 2018, spouses and adult children of eligible personnel were also eligible to compete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many events can I participate in?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Athletes can participate in as many events would like! In the 2018 edition of the Games, athletes participated in an average of 4 events per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Can Compete<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

All sworn Federal, State\/Provincial, County, Municipal and Military law enforcement officers, weight control officers, corrections officers and dispatchers employed by a law enforcement agency (male or female, active or retired) are eligible. Police reservists and cadets who have 180-days of continuous law enforcement service, have received formal training in law enforcement and have powers of arrest are eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible fire service personnel includes both paid and volunteer, dispatchers, military fire personnel, (male or female, active or retired) who have received formal training as a firefighter and have 180-days of continuous fire service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible EMS personnel includes E.M.S. personnel employed by a private entity or Governmental Agency (male or female, active or retired) who have received formal training as an EMS provider and have 180 days of continuous service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible law enforcement, fire service and E.M.S. personnel described above from any city, county, state\/province, and Country are eligible to compete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spouses of eligible law enforcement, fire service and E.M.S. personnel are also eligible to compete. Also, adult children and their spouses, over 18 years of age, of eligible law enforcement, fire service and E.M.S. are eligible to compete. A spouse, adult children and their spouse must complete the on-line registration process listing the agency information representing the eligible spouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
